BNU Bestival’13 brings to you an opportunity to showcase your literary talents, and to harness your potential as a budding writer. This year’s Creative Writing Competition is exclusively in English. The prime focus shall be on short story writing, along with spontaneous expression that will be judged in terms of style, imagistic density, and aestheticism that necessarily contribute to the writer’s individual style of writing. Furthermore, participants must brave a series of mini-challenges that will contribute to the final selection of runner-ups/winner.

Day 1:

A workshop will be conducted by Ilona Yusuf who will give her input regarding creative writing to facilitate the participants promoting a healthy and intellectual discussion. Topics for the short story will be given, and the writers will be exposed to different genres that will hopefully broaden their approach towards writing.

Day 2:

The second half of the workshop will be conducted by Bilal Tanweer. Participants will be presented with mini-poetry challenges that will set the competitive bar for this competition. A series of on-the-spot activities would be planned with points for each round. These challenges will contribute 50% to the final evaluation.

Day 3:

Submission of Short-Story. The short story assessment will make up the remaining 50% of the final evaluation.

Day 4:

Result announcement.
